A real heavy heart here at Plot this week. A big Mancunian, Anthony H Wilson, has moved on, and I'm not sure there's many who will occupy anything near his space right now.
As they say in Manchester he put it on the map.
Paul Morley has a few things to say, too. And Richard Oliver pointed the source of the best quote I've seen in the recent days from Momus:
"No, a good businessman is someone who creates an amazingly good company, a company which inspires people and changes the world, a company without which a large number of brilliant things simply wouldn't have happened. Tony was one of the best."
And in case you don't know about him, he's known for five things he did for music in the UK
In the few times I met him, his charm came before his ego. Watching the film 24 hour party people was such a hoot, and so on the money.
Thank you for the dancing, the scene and the great vibe, Mr Wilson. I hope you've got a brand new bunch of artists and musicians to play with.
